Below shows the day my mother tried to brought my brother for an assessment for swimming class. He needed to be assessed to check if he was capable of going for swimming class.

Video di bawah menunjukkan hari ibu saya membawa adik saya untuk penilaian kelas berenang kerana mereka hendak memeriksakan keupayaanya untuk pergi ke kelas berenang itu.
Sebelum menonton, ingin saya beritahu dalam video tersebut saya mengatakan" "Why is he like this?" (Kenapakah dia macam ini?") dalam nada yang keras

Perhatikan, dia tidak mendengar pengajar itu. Kadang kadang dia tidak akan pandang kepada pengajar yang sedang mencuba membawanya masuk ke dalam air.

So while watching I was surprised because normally he would not hesitate to go into the water.
Adik saya memang suka masuk dalam air

Jadi sambil melihat adik bertindak seperti itu saya terkejut kerana biasanya dia tidak akan teragak-agak untuk masuk ke dalam air.

So when he was acting this way I was so scared my mother needed to find another swimming class even though this was the place where they train people in the Paralympic.

It was so frustrating and you would feel the same way too if you were in my position as well

Jadi bila dia bertindak seperti itu saya merasa bimbang permohonan masuk kelas renang akan ditolak walaupun tempat ini tempat untuk latihan atlet paralimpik

Ia memang mengecewakan dan anda mesti mempunyai perasaan yang sama jika anda berada di tempat saya

Thankfully, in the end the instructor said that it was alright because he is autistic so he may not be familiar with the environment and the amount of people that were there. They will give him time to familiarize with the place so that he will be comfortable to swim there.

Syukurlah, akhirnya pengajar memberitahu dia boleh belajar renang di situ kerana dia kanak kanak autisma dan mungkin dia tidak biasa dengan persekitaraan itu dan kemungkinan juga terlalu terlalu ramai orang di situ. Jadi mereka memberi masa untuk dia membiasakan diri dengan persekitaraan di situ
Before this swimming class my mother tried to apply my brother into an international school which does take in children with Autism. I was pretty confident that they will take him as his condition was not too bad when it comes to behavior.

However, the supervisor of special needs children there rejected his application as she thought that he was too noisy and would disturb the other students.
Sebelum permohonan kelas renang ini ibu saya mencuba memohon adik saya masuk ke dalam sekolah antarabangsa yang menerima kanak kanak Autisme dan saya yakin sekolah itu akan menerimanya kerana tahap Autismenya tidak teruk apabila ia melibatkan tingkah laku.

Tetapi penyelia kanak kanak kurang upaya menolak permohonanya kerana dia menganggap dia terlalu bising dan dia akan mengganggu kanak-kanak lain.
Frustration, disappointment are all a few feelings that can be gained. Not getting into a school is just one challenge.There are millions of challenges that people that care-givers of people with Autism have to face through everyday and we should not look down upon them if their own child or family member acts differently from "normal" people.

Kekecewaan, pasrah adalah beberapa perasaan yang wujud. Tidak mendapat tempat di sekolah hanyalah satu cabaran.
Ada berjuta cabaran yang dihadapi penjaga penjaga individu Autisme dan mereka mesti menghadapinya setiap hari dan kita tidak boleh memandang rendah kepada mereka jika ahli keluarganya bekelakuan lain berbanding dengan budak normal.
